When all Blogs are uninteresting...except to CBS!

Why has CBS displayed such interest and priority in starting blogs here?  Absolutely nobody cares about them, except for the supposed CBS Admins.  The rest of us have tried them out...and they are ridiculous.  What's the point?

They are simply ramblings, that no one really cares about at all.  Can anybody tell me why they are so important here?  It just makes no sense at all.

When College FB fans begin speculating about...

...who their new starters will be and how they will do.

I'm a die hard Oklahoma Sooners fan. I hope those who visit here might allow that and show respect for all those who come here who have different favorite teams than theirs. That's really what college football and sports are all about.

Anyway, we have most of our team returning except mainly in the secondary and at LB. But with the really strong recruiting over the past few years, we should be able to reload well at these positions to go along with all our returning starters. We're really optimistic we'll have another very competitive team at the national level next year.

We have our entire OL returning, and they played very well last year. Our young QB, who led the nation in passing efficiency last year as a freshman, is back. And our usual stable of WR's, TE's, and RB's are well intact. Our DL returns intact as well. We're excited about their potential with yet another year under their belt.

But there are many other teams in the NCAA who will have the same kind of optimism about their prospects, as well... and very deservedly so. LSU, Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, USC, Texas, WVU, Va Tech, and many others come to mind. That is in no particular order and leaves so many teams not being mentioned. The point is, this is a great time for virtually all college FB fans, no matter who their favorite team is...the speculation process is a really big part of the year.

I'm hoping fans from from other schools come here to share reasons for their optimism about their teams this year. To me, there's no better way to learn about who's out there and what we should be looking for as the season unfolds. What do you see about the potential of your favorite college football team for the upcoming year?

(And please all, let's not be critical of the optimism...that's a big part of the fun. I want to learn from the best as I'm sure you all do.)

When the NFL board here at CBS becomes whimsical!

I love all the creative posts on the NFL board lately, but I find myself unable to respond to any of them. I know there's little to nothing to post about concerning the league right now. But I really miss posting there. I wonder how many others here are having similar difficulties now that football season has come to a close.

I love football and hope others will try to join me to generate interest in football content on the NFL board. I know it's very difficult right now. How can we make it happen?

When the NBA trade deadline is nearing!

Wow!  The trades in the NBA have been huge this last month.  I've never seen anything like it.

The recent trades by the Lakers, Suns, and Mavericks have shaken things up pretty good.  And these moves will probably foster additional ones.  Perhaps the Spurs need to do something now.  I just have trouble seeing how Tim Duncan, Fabricio Oberto, and Bruce Bowen can stand up against Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, and Lamar Odom or against Shaq, Amare Stoudemire, and Boris Diaw/Grant Hill in the play offs... assuming Shaq fits in and steps up (big assumption!)  Seems the Spurs may be one really good big man short now.

In the East, the Celtics and Pistons have to be scratching their heads as well.

I wonder what future trades will come about as a result of all this activity recently.

Spring is almost here!

Spring is just about here, for me, when I first feel true warmth in the air outside for the first time in the new year. It's such a great feeling. I wonder what others feel is the first sign of Spring coming. Other signs to me are:

...The crocus and the tulips begin to poke through the ground.

...Grass is showing the first signs of life at the base of the plant.

...Winter wheat resumes it's very rapid growth.

...The robins have returned.

...CSF starts blogging about the SI swimsuit edition (The inspiration for this blog, actually.)

...The Pro Bowl has finally been played.

...Thoughts of March Madness become much more frequent.

...Spring scrimmages are being set in college football.

...The NBA trade deadline is nearing.

...CSF is still blogging about the Swimsuit magazine.

I wonder when others here are first beginning to think about spring. Perhaps the very best time of the year for me!
